Hyrox Challenge Physio Glasgow: Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic for Pro and Amateur Athletes
Throughout 2023 and 2024, we have seen a huge increase in the popularity of Hyrox. Hyrox Glasgow is one of the most popular sporting events in the country, attracting participants from all across the UK and beyond. The Hyrox challenge consists of 8 different exercises, where athletes compete against one another for time. It involves functional fitness and strength. Hyrox involves 1km runs (x8!) as well as other exercises such as wall balls, burpee broad jumps, 1km row, ski erg and weighted sled push + pull.
To take part in such an event is an inspiration to many however, training and competing in such an intense sport and the impact that it can have on the body really should not be underestimated. High-impact movements such as burpees and lunges are performed under fatigue, which can be demanding for the wrists, shoulders and knee joints in particular.
